Conrad Attard

Dr. Conrad Attard is the Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology at the University of Malta. With academic foundations in computer science from the University of Sheffield and the University of Malta, Dr. Attard brings a wealth of expertise to the field. He chairs the MSc in Digital Health and has spent over a decade advancing the use of IoT in healthcare, particularly in pervasive electronic monitoring, robotics, and human activity recognition. He set up and leads a lab in Pervasive electronic monitoring in healthcare at the University of Malta, collaborating with various universities.

His work bridges research and real-world application, strongly focusing on using sensor technologies to develop mobile and just-in-time knowledge solutions for healthcare environments. Dr. Attard is an experienced IT consultant, helping SMEs and local general hospitals focus on critical health systems and adopt robust IT infrastructures.

He has led numerous innovative projects that use technology to improve workplace and patient care settings. Dr. Attard is the Chair of the IEEE Malta Section and the founder and organiser of the international IEEE Region 8 Robot Championships in 2022 and 2024.
