Ethical Dilemmas in AI and Responsible Innovation in Digital Public Health

Plenary session being run as part of the DPH 2025 conference.

Session overview

The plenary session will introduce the strategic ethical framework for responsible innovation (RI) in digital public health, providing a foundation for understanding the ethical dimensions of emerging technologies in the field. It will highlight three concrete AI use cases that exemplify common ethical tensions, encouraging participants to reflect on real-world challenges. Through live polling, the session will actively engage the audience by capturing their perspectives on which ethical dilemmas they find most urgent in their own practice. Finally, the plenary will offer a high-level roadmap for the World Café session taking place the following day, which will focus on the co-development of actionable outputs such as sections of a white paper and targeted policy briefs.
