Dr Meike Schlieff

SPEAKING AT:

Dr Meike Schleiff is an established health policy and systems researcher and educator with over 15 years of experience working in low- and middle-income countries as well as with underserved populations in high-resource settings. Her interests focus on education, particularly within the health sector, and on overcoming primary care service delivery challenges (health and care workforce considerations, implementation research to understand barriers and context-specific solutions), community engagement approaches, and health systems strengthening with a focus on underserved populations. She is experienced in developing theories of change and monitoring and evaluation approaches for measuring and tracking the impact of education and training programs.

She enjoys working with, mentoring, and learning with young leaders who are actively engaged in bringing about change with their communities and in themselves. She is deeply committed to working with diverse stakeholders to generate relevant and timely evidence and ensure that it accessible to those who can use for effective decision-making.

Dr Schleiff has received several recognitions of her contributions so far, including invitations to lecture at Georgetown University, Cornell University, and to present and teach with a range of partners around the world. She is also the joint recipient along with Dr David Bishai of the inaugural Toregeldy Sharmanov International Award in 2021 for her edited book on primary health care in action.
