We are looking forward to welcoming you to Barcelona for DPH2026! Please review the following visa and travel information to ensure a smooth and stress-free arrival.
Entry & Visa Requirements
Travellers should familiarise themselves with Spain’s border and entry requirements. Requirements vary depending on your nationality and travel history.
For the most accurate and up-to-date visa requirements, please visit the official website of the Spanish government and review the information specific to your country.
*!Important!*
It is the responsibility of each attendee to check and fulfil their own visa requirements. We strongly recommend starting your visa application process well in advance of your travel date.
Information for UK citizens travelling to Spain:
The European Union’s new Entry/Exit System (EES) is a digital border management system for non-EU nationals travelling to the Schengen Area for short stays. The system replaces manual passport stamping with an electronic record of travellers’ entries and exits and requires visitors to provide biometric information, including fingerprints and a photograph, when crossing the border for the first time after the system’s introduction. Travellers do not need to complete any registration before arrival, but should allow additional time at border control as the new checks may take longer.
Please note that the biometric registration is only required on the first arrival after the introduction of the EES. If you have already travelled to a Schengen country and completed the EES checks since November 2025, you will not need to repeat the process. However, you should still allow extra time at border control for the electronic checks. The EES applies to travel to Schengen countries, including Spain, and helps monitor compliance with short-stay rules (up to 90 days within a 180-day period).
