Nuno Feixa Rodrigues is an Associate Professor of Programming Science and Technology at the School of Technology, Polytechnic Institute of Cávado e Ave (EST-IPCA). From 2011 to 2017, he served as Director of EST-IPCA and the DIGARC – Digital Games Research Center.
He holds a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science (2003) and a PhD in Computer Engineering (2009), both from the University of Minho. Following his doctorate, he received a postdoctoral grant (2009-2010) to research programming methods for validating cryptographic software within the European project CACE (Computer-Aided Cryptography Engineering).
Between 2019 and 2021, Nuno was a member of the Board of Directors at the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and served as General Coordinator for the National Initiative for Digital Skills (INCoDe.2030). During this time, he led several national strategic digital projects, including the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy and the National Advanced Computing Strategy. From 2019 to 2022, he represented Portugal in international digital forums, such as the OECD Blockchain Expert Policy Advisory Board, the European Commission’s Digital Single Market Strategic Group, and the OECD Network of AI Experts.
Nuno is a Senior Researcher at INESC-TEC. He has coordinated and contributed to numerous research projects across various fields of computer science and digital technologies. He has published over 50 scientific articles and participated in several international scientific committees. His research interests focus on leveraging digital technologies to enhance quality of life. Currently, he is particularly engaged in projects that utilize virtual reality (VR) and multimodal and generative AI to better understand patient conditions and develop personalized solutions for improving cognitive and mental health.
