We invite researchers, practitioners, and innovators to submit their latest research to the Digital Public Health Conference, a premier forum for exploring the transformative impact of digital technologies on public health. This year’s conference will delve into critical themes such as disease surveillance, pandemic preparedness, AI and emerging technologies, digital health literacy, behaviour change interventions, and data governance. We particularly welcome contributions on topics including predictive modelling for outbreaks and epidemics, mobile technology and serious games for health, digital One Health, epidemic intelligence, AI-driven public health solutions, and the role of digital tools for tackling climate-related health challenges. Submissions may cover novel methodologies, real-world implementations, case studies, policy implications, and ethical considerations in digital public health. We welcome both computing and public health researchers (among others), and thus solicit both research papers (to be published in IEEE proceedings) and extended abstracts (to be published in Frontiers abstract book).
The DPH 2025 main themes include:
- Disease Surveillance and Pandemic Preparedness
- Digital Technology for Training and Behaviour Change
- Emerging Technology and Public Health
- Digital Systems and Data Governance
- Public Health Challenges
See Calls for Papers and Prizes – #DPH2025 for a full list.
Submission Guidelines
There are two publication options for the Main track:
- Full papers published by IEEE DPH 2025 Proceedings (4- 8 pages total, including references and any appendices, using the IEEE template: https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html)
- Extended Abstracts published by Frontiers Digital Public Health journal, DPH 2025 Abstract Book (up to 1000 words)
Main Track submissions will be reviewed by three reviewers from the PC and SPC committees and assessed in terms of their quality, relevance to the conference, originality, significance, correctness, and clarity.
Instructions for students submitting to the Main track
- include your student status (MSc/PhD/all levels) by ticking the box on the submission form to be considered for the Best Student Award
- students submitting to the Main track are encouraged to tick the box to be also included in the PhD/MSc Track (Day 1) to practice their talk among students and receive a mentoring advice, before presenting in the Main track conference (Day 2 and 3) if accepted
- should you work be less mature, concept or early stage please submit to the PhD/MSc Student track and/or Poster Track.
Publication Instructions
DPH 2025 proceedings will be published in two proceedings:
Full Papers
Full papers will be published in the IEEE DPH 2025 Proceedings. Please follow the following checklist:
- All submissions must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.
- The papers must range between 4‑8 pages, including references and any appendices.
- Papers should conform to the IEEE double column format: https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html
- Papers must be anonymized: the names and affiliations removed, and any references to previous works either substituted with “anonymized” or rephrased.
- All submissions must be submitted in PDF format using the Easychair submission system (see link below).
- Please paste your Abstract in the Abstract field in the Easychair system for ease of processing and review allocation.
Note that:
- All accepted papers will have their own DOI.
- If you are submitting a paper, first submit the abstract by the abstract deadline, which is a week before the full paper deadline. During that week, the submission can be changed, edited and re-uploaded. This is to streamline the review process and the allocation of reviewers. Your abstract will not be reviewed before the full paper deadline is closed.
- Accepted papers will need to incorporate reviewers’ comments and re-submit their paper by the Camera Ready deadline to IEEE. Instructions will be provided.
- An accepted paper may be selected for either oral or poster presentation depending on review score and topic specificity.
Extended Abstracts
Extended abstracts will be published in the Abstract Book in the Frontiers Digital Public Health Journal: https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/public-health/sections/digital-public-health/about
- There is no specific formatting required except using 12pt font size, the length not exceeding 1000 words (excluding references), and having at most 2 figures/tables.
- Extended Abstracts could follow the standard structure: Aims/Abstract/Overview, Background, Methods, Results and Conclusions. Alternatively, computer science abstracts can follow a freerer headings structure.
- You will indicate the word count in afield in Easychair.
- All submissions must be submitted in PDF format using the Easychair submission system (see link below).
- Paste your first section (Aims/Abstract/Overview) to the Abstract field in the Easychair system for ease of processing and review allocation.
Note that:
- The Extended Abstract deadline is a week before the full paper deadline, but you may change, edit and re-upload it until the full paper deadline. This is to streamline the review process and the allocation of reviewers. Your abstract will not be reviewed before the full paper deadline is closed.
- Accepted Extended abstracts will have to incorporate reviewers’ comments and re-submit their abstract by the Camera Ready deadline to Frontiers. Instructions will be provided.
- Accepted submissions may be selected for either oral or poster presentation depending on review score and topic specificity
The use of Generative AI tools is permissible but must be disclosed and the Scientific Committee reserves the right to exclude any abstract that is generated solely by AI tools.
Note that at least one author of all accepted papers and Extended abstracts must register for the conference at the full rate and attend in person to present their work. For teams of co-authors submitting multiple papers, a different author must register for each accepted submission.
